One of the Midwest's oldest professional summer companies, Canterbury celebrates its 58th anniversary in 2026.

The Music Director will be responsible for teaching solo and choral parts for three productions, as well as accompanying rehearsals and performances. Experience working with tracks a plus.

Usually this position is filled by a graduate student, an upper level undergraduate, or a working professional who can afford to work for the experience and the modest salary offered. This person also fits into the summer camp atmosphere, and schedule, of typical Midwest summer stock.

Housing is included--usually shared bedrooms in houses or apartments.

The experience is typical of summer stock---resume building, experience, networking, and rewarding. Owing to our proximity to Chicago, many company members use Canterbury as a jumping-off point to move and pursue careers there. Also, Canterbury is located a short distance from the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan.
