BROAD DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Work with the production staff, performers, Dare to Dream Theatre (DTD) board, Artistic Director, and volunteers to promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere of fun, teamwork, responsibility, and community within the organization.
Collaborate productively, positively and efficiently with the director, choreographer, stage manager, and other staff and volunteers to create a unified vision of the production and teach music for CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG
Assist with the casting, scheduling, and other necessary duties to prepare the production of CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG This includes: preparation (Spring 2025), auditions (April 2025), rehearsals (April-July 2025) and performances (July 2025).
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Represent DTD through the knowledge, understanding, support, and demonstration of the DTD core values in all activities associated with and aspects of the theatrical production.
Engage in active communications with the Artistic Director, DTD Board, committees, supporters, parents, and other groups as appropriate and necessary.
Demonstrate a high professional standard and dynamic through the demonstration of understanding and respect the diverse skill sets of all ages.
Teach and rehearse choral musical parts to performers for all production musical numbers as required and determined by the director.
Rehearse and direct a pit orchestra of advanced student and/or professional musicians for all scheduled tech/pit rehearsals and performances
Attend all DTD meetings, rehearsals, and performances as scheduled.
Serve as a positive role model for all involved in the production and act in a safe and responsible manner.
Assist with audition workshop and auditions in April. Participate in auditions/casting with other production staff members as determined by the DTD board.
Work with the director and other production staff members to create and post a rehearsal schedule.
Find a competent and qualified substitute and/or coordinate scheduling arrangements with the director and/or the DTD Board in the event of an absence or scheduling conflict with the rehearsal schedule.
If desired, assign and coordinate responsibilities/duties for interns or apprentice.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Experience in the Theater industry.
Experience teaching music to young performers
Experience directing a pit orchestra
Excellent organizational skills and verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and keep projects on schedule.
Flexibility in working with a diverse group of volunteers and personalities.
Ability to work within electronic mediums: MS word/excel, airtable, and email.
Commitment to embracing the mission and values of Dare to Dream Theatre.
At least 18 years of age.
