College of Creative Arts: Production Coordinator/Lead Electrician to coordinate production elements for theatre, opera, and music performances in the Center for Performing Arts venues within the College of Creative Arts; support and help execute lighting and sound designs; ensure safe/effective use of the venue and equipment.
The Production Coordinator/Lead Electrician will oversee technical operations and maintenance of Gates-Abegglen and Studio 88 theatres; coordinate planning and organization for use of theatre spaces by multiple stakeholders; serve as liaison for touring artists/productions; train + supervise electrics/sound student staff; supervise work calls, load-ins and strikes; collaborate with faculty/staff to mentor student designers and technicians; ensure proper and safe use of all equipment; perform proper and timely maintenance of lighting/sound/com equipment.
Required Qualifications: Undergraduate degree + 2 years of related professional theatrical experience; OR 5 years of related professional theatrical experience including at least one year in a supervisory role; OR master+rsquo;s degree in Theatre. Expertise in at least one area of technical theatre; ability to work independently; experience in supervising crews; ability to work at heights; ability to lift 40lbs.
Desired Qualifications: Consideration may be given to someone with demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team; commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment; experience working in education/teaching/mentoring. Knowledge of workplace and safety regulations; demonstrated commitment to ongoing training and skill acquisition; theatrical engineering and rigging skills; fluent in CAD and/or Vectorworks; ability to program lighting/sound consoles; ability to design sound for theatrical productions; excellent communication and collaboration skills.
